Call for Submissions 2021

*Please note that the deadline for this call for submissions has passed. If you would like to contribute an article that is to be published on our website, refer to the ‘Community Submission Guidelines’. If you would like to contribute to Issue 15.1 of our Annual Magazine, please regularly check our website for updates on when the submission portal will open (likely February, 2022).

Juxtaposition Global Health Magazine is looking for articles that examine the essential health issues of our time. Using a multidisciplinary approach, Juxtaposition seeks to include perspectives on such issues from a wider socio-cultural, political, economic, and legal context.

This year, the theme of our print publication is ‘Politicization of Health: The Year of the Pandemic’.

This theme is flexible and nuanced, allowing writers to explore a variety of topics, including (but not limited to):

  • World Health Organization reform

  • Fair and equitable vaccine access

  • Intellectual property monopolies

  • Public health advocacy through social movements

  • Climate change politics

  • Human rights and the COVID-19 response

  • Racialization and health

  • Migrant healthcare access

We are a student-run publication at the University of Toronto, however, you do not need to be a University of Toronto student to write for us. We accept submissions from anyone interested in global health regardless of education or professional background.

To submit an article: (1) read our terms of submission, and (2) send your final submission to juxtaposition.utoronto@gmail.com.

The deadline to submit your final submission is March 4th, 2021 at 11:59 ET.

If you have any questions about the submission process, please email us at juxtaposition.utoronto@gmail.com.
