Sangkavi Kuhan
Co-Editor-in-Chief

Sangkavi (she/her) graduated from the University of Toronto in 2023 with a Bachelors degree in Life Sciences. She is currently working as a Research Assistant within the Divisions of Thoracic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA and Toronto General Hospital in Toronto, ON. She is also a National Director for the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative and she is passionate about raising awareness of lung cancer and lung cancer screening. Sangkavi aspires to attend medical school and pursue a career in cardiothoracic surgery and research. In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano and drawing.

Meredith Blaise
Associate Editor

Meredith is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto studying Global Health and Anthropology. She is interested in brain health equity and neuropsychological research, and she is interested in pursuing a potential career as a physician-anthropologist. Meredith is passionate about social justice and addressing the ideological forces that surround the social determinants of health. In her free time, she enjoys creative writing, composing music, fitness, and traveling.

Diyaa Al Arbid
Social Networker and Graphic Designer

Diyaa (he/him) graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelors of Science where he specialized in Human Biology. Diyaa is interested in exploring topics relating to infectious diseases that pose great risks to human and animal health. His professional goals are to contribute to groundbreaking advancements that improve healthcare outcomes and enrich our understanding of the world of science.

Cassandra Seal

Cassandra (she/her) is a third-year University of Toronto student, studying Neuroscience, Physiology, and Immunology. She is passionate about neurodegenerative diseases and the potential of neuroimaging in clinical detection. Cassandra is also interested in the development and usage of neuropharmaceuticals for treating psychiatric disorders. When Cassandra is not painting or rewatching the Lord of the Rings, she can be found at a pottery studio. Cassandra aspires to attend medical school and pursue neurological research.

Franco Miguel Valencia

Franco (he/his) is a second-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto studying Neuroscience, Psychology, and Computer Science. He is extremely passionate about the interdisciplinary nature of cognition and its potential in healthcare research. He particularly enjoys promoting scientific outreach, reading philosophy, and watching Steins;Gate.

Dylan Dittrich
Graphic Designer

Dylan is a Victoria College student at the University of Toronto majoring in International Relations & Global Health. He has a keen interest in the intersection of global politics and public health policy. Dylan is also interested in learning more about vaccine development & distribution on a global scale, and how public health institutions combat disinformation. During his free time, Dylan enjoys reading, watching movies, and keeping up with current events.

Sky Suh
Podcast Director

Sky is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto pursuing a Bachelors of Information degree. She is interested in many different global health topics, such as chronic diseases, mental health, and cancer. Sky is passionate about expanding the application of technology to address global health issues. She aspires to work for the World Health Organization and support developed and under-developed countries to implement better public health policies.

Lena Idris

Lena Idris (she/her) is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto pursuing a double major in Global Health and African Studies with a Certificate in Sustainability. As a Sudanese Nubian, Lena is passionate about indigenous languages and heritage, and the intersections of social justice and health equity, especially on the continent. In her free time she appreciates spending time in nature and a well-whisked matcha!

Abisha Yogaratnam

Abisha (she/her) is passionate about Health Equity, Population Health, and International Development, which led her to pursue a Masters in Global Health at McMaster University. She is interested in the topics of antimicrobial resistance among refugee and migrant populations, and health systems and knowledge translation in and from the global south. Currently, she is engaged in health research at a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre in Toronto. In her free time, she enjoys reading, mostly fiction!

James Korini
Podcast Director

James is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto majoring in Human Biology and Psychology. He is interested in exploring how emotional stressors can show up as physical symptoms, and how one's diet can affect the way they make decisions through their microbiota. James hopes to attend medical school in the future and become a physician.
